Hydraulics & Ship Controls-Engineering Technician Support

Contingent upon Contract Award

Purpose:

Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Hydraulics & Ship Controls-Engineering Technician Support who will be key in providing technical support to MARMC C250.
Located in Norfolk, VA

Job Description:

Support by demonstrating working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, ship visit procedures, and post-visit reporting methods.
Execute all troubleshooting , assessing, and inspecting shipboard systems and equipment:
- Shipboard Hydraulics' Systems
- Hydraulic Controls Systems
- Steering Systems
- Anchor Windlass Systems
- Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Systems.
Specialized experience shall be demonstrated in troubleshooting and assessment of US Naval Steering, Anchor Windlass, and CPP Systems equipment, in the official capacity of a SME for either a US Navy Engineering Activity, OEM, or industrial/commercial activity.
Assist in creating proper techniques for identifying causes of equipment casualties.

Qualifications:

Must have a High School Diploma and at least 7 years in related experience.
Must have at least 7 years of experience troubleshooting and assessment of US Naval Steering, Anchor Windlass, and CPP Systems equipment.
Must have computer/laptop hardware and software proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), necessary for compiling information and developing reports as required by the respective C250 Branch Head.
Must have recent experience (within two years) maintaining and operating the systems.
Must have ability the ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and piping drawings.
Must possess the ability to review, update, and close assigned jobs in the prescribed government database.

Security Requirements:

Must have an Active Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain one.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel- less than 10%
If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.

Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year
