What You'll Do

As the Site Manager, you will supervise operational activities as established in procedures and guidelines set by the Company in the areas of: safety, people, equipment, environment, cost performance and customer product delivery. You will direct operational resources to safely meet customer production requirements, enhance customer relationships and improve operational efficiencies. Other duties will include:

  • Direct project support resources to ensure continuous improvement in shifting culture to achieve Dyno Nobel operational standards.
  • Ensure that the Garner site operate in compliance with established procedures and guidelines in the areas of: safety, people, manufacturing, environment, asset utilization, customer, and product & service delivery.
  • Enhance their knowledge of site operations to drive cost and operational site improvements.
  • Recruit, train and develop new employees into team and ensure their effectiveness in safely executing job activities.
  • Direct and coordinate site operational resources to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Understand and enhance service requirements to continually improve customer profitability.
  • Work with the Business Development & Sales Team on operational support for targeted, new national/major accounts while enhancing relationships with existing accounts.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external customers to successfully meet objectives and add value for customers, manufacturing and distribution sites.
  • Report on integration accomplishments and concerns/challenges, site operational performance and financial metrics regularly. Direct project support resources to meet Integration Project milestones.
  • Prepare and submit proper paperwork to document expenses, quantify preventative maintenance and understand finances in order to maintain proper records for cost control.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent. Additional directly related work experience may be substituted for some of the educational requirements.
  • 15+ years working experience in the explosives industry
  • Experience with safety, environment, manufacturing, product quality, maintenance, and training systems.
  • Advanced people management skills including leadership, performance management and coaching.
  • Experience with bulk truck delivery and on-bench blasting operations.
  • Strong understanding and acceptance of responsibility for compliance to relevant MSHA, OSHA, ATF, DOT, EPA and local regulations.
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
