Overview

The VTS Sustainment Lead shall have a degree in electronics, electrical, telecommunications, or marine electronics engineering or engineering technology or equivalent experience. The VTS Sustainment Lead shall have demonstrated understanding of Vessel Traffic Safety Systems by completion of at least one year of experience in Vessel Traffic Service systems as a certified VTS Operator or VTS Supervisor. Completion of an International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) V-103 series training course and certified as an ETA International Radar electronics technician or equivalent. The Contractor shall ensure all technicians engaged in maintenance of land mobile radio (LMR) and/or microwave radio systems obtain certification as ETA International General Communications Technician - Level 1 or equivalent. installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The VTS Technician(s) shall have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in the following areas:


* Loading, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining radar systems with preference given to those with TERMA radar experience.
* Loading, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining AIS Base stations.
* Loading, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining networked Pan, Tilt, Zoom (PTZ) camera and associated systems e.g. encoders, decoders, video cabling, power supplies, controller modules, etc.
* Loading, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining networked Microwave and associated systems e.g. power supplies, network devices, cabling, and antennas.
* Loading, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining the Integrated Networked Video System (INVS) Video Controller and software.

The Contractor shall ensure employees and/or subcontractors performing work on remote sites have completed outdoor survival and wildlife safety training to include wildlife avoidance and protection. (Note - Alaska cold weather survival and wildlife safety courses are available from various commercial sources including but not limited to www.survivaltraining.com) Contractors shall be prepared for and expected to spend extended periods (i.e. overnight to several days) at remote sites unassisted and unsupported while performing preventive and corrective maintenance actions. The Contractor shall ensure employees and/or subcontractors performing work on remote sites are physically able to perform work in arduous terrain and weather conditions.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Education: Associate's Degree in a relevant field of study, or equivalent relevant technical or military training. General and Specialized Experience may substitute for Education.

* General Experience: At least 4 years of experience with integrated systems, as well as experience in installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic systems. Specialized Experience: Four (4) years of work experience in the field of integrated systems.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results. May be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Must have or be eligible for security clearances. May require occasional travel.

Salary
$58/hourly
