VTTI seeks a Technical Writer who will work closely with the Crash Data Analysis Team to compose, edit, format, and produce technical reports and other technical documents, such as papers to be submitted for publication, external publicity materials, monthly status reports, and newsletters. The technical writer is responsible for ensuring consistency in image, branding, grammar, punctuation, format, tone, and style as well as clarity, cohesiveness, and responsiveness to the specified report deliverable. In addition to these duties, the technical writer retains electronic copies of previously developed reports and publications, and as needed, develops, organizes, and edits a variety of document resource and template materials to assist in future report and documentation production.

Having personnel that can wear many hats and contribute across the broad spectrum of research projects is critical. In addition to the duties noted above, the candidate for this position should have experience conducting research involving crash data analysis, familiarity with national crash datasets, and appropriate interpretation of results.

The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and with multidisciplinary teams to improve transportation safety through cutting edge research. This candidate must have awareness and sensitivity towards multicultural issues as well as excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills. Required Qualifications

-Master's degree in engineering or Bachelor's degree in English, communications, or equivalent related training and experience.
-Strong writing and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical information to a variety of audiences.
-Demonstrated experience in technical writing.
-Experience conducting crash data analyses.
-Computer proficiency required in office applications, particularly Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience with 508 compliance.
-Familiarity Minitab.
