We are expanding our Eye Care Center seeking a board-certified Ophthalmologist with excellent clinical and surgical skills. Ideally, we would like to bring onboard someone fellowship trained in treating patients with glaucoma. Having said that because of the large expansion and commitment we have to Ophthalmology at Mary Washington Healthcare, we will entertain a General Ophthalmologist as well.The Ophthalmologist will be responsible for comprehensive eye care with a focus on handling surgical services. We have two main hospitals, (Level II Trauma facility) We have a fantastic outpatient surgical center, Mary Washington Healthcare's Fredericksburg Ambulatory Surgery Center (FASC). FASC was recognized and named a Leapfrog Top Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in 2021, one of only 13 selected nationally for this competitive award.

Located 55 miles south of Washington, D.C. and 55 miles north of Richmond, VA. Fredericksburg is part of the Northern Virginia region, and is considered the southernmost "suburb" of Washington, DC. Located on the Rappahannock River, Tourism is a major part of the economy, with approximately 1.5 million people visiting the Fredericksburg area annually. Fredericksburg is home to several major retail and commercial centers. Major employers include the University of Mary Washington, Mary Washington Healthcare, GEICO, and the Federal Government, with Marine Base Quantico and the Pentagon within easy driving distance. Many Fredericksburg-area residents commute to work by car, bus, and rail to Washington and Richmond, as well as Fairfax, Prince William, and Arlington counties.
