Foster Fuels a national fuel distribution and fuel service provider has an opening for a Fuel Quality Technician position based out of our Brookneal Headquarters office. Fuel Quality Technicians candidates must possess excellent self management skills, a proven track record of meeting ambitious goals, and exemplary customer service. This position requires extended periods of travel throughout the United States.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fuel Quality technicians pull samples from fuel storage tanks and test the quality of the fuel.
  • Assist with cleaning & filtration operations at customer sites.
  • Lead fuel cleaning and filtration operations at Customer sites. (company training provided).
  • Provide Fuel Quality Service Work
  • Must be able to maintain records and process paperwork related to service work provided including preparing reports and data entry
  • Assist with Tank Pump outs, fuel delivery or other Mission Critical Work when required.
  • Must be able to work equally well in an office as well as out at a customer site (field setting)
  • Must have demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to address and resolve issues in a professional manner.
  • Must be available to assist in Disaster Relief deployments when required.

Required Skills:

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain a US Passport within six months.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class A or B CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements within six months.
  • Must have demonstrated problem solving capability.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team.
  • Requires travel up to approximately 60% of the time for up to two to three weeks at a time.
  • Candidates must be mechanically inclined and have had some previous mechanical work experience.
  • Requires attention to details in all aspects of the job, during fuel quality work as well as office work.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated and a self-starter
  • Candidates must have experience and competence with Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Candidates must have effective written and oral communications skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with pumps or fluid handling systems preferred.
  • Associates degree in a scientific field preferred.

Other Comments:

  • Physical Requirements include being able to lift/carry up to 50-75 pounds, climbing, squatting, crawling, and ability to work at heights wearing fall restraints.
