Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Land Survey Computer in Richmond, VA. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail-oriented individual interested in joining our Land Surveying department as a Land Survey Computer. Must be able to work in a team environment as a key member of a professional surveying staff assisting in the performance of boundary, ALTA, topographic, platting, right-of way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology.

This position has opportunity for advancement for a motivated individual willing to grow with the changing skills and technology required of a Professional Land Surveyor.

Responsibilities
    Communicate with the supervisor on daily workload and needs to meet the schedule.
  • Daily uploading and downloading of data collectors and reduction of files.
  • Perform survey computations in AutoCAD for ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, house location surveys, title surveys, construction stakeout and record plats.
  • Interpret technical documents such as construction plans, deeds, plats and title reports.
  • Process 3D laser scan data into various format deliverables.
  • Cutsheet preparation.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) year of survey experience or equivalent certification / degree.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with boundary surveys, topographic surveys, GPS control surveys, construction stakeout for residential and commercial projects and cutsheets.
  • Experience with AutoCAD drafting and computing skills.
  • Experience with land record research.
  • Experience with Carlson Survey and Trimble Business Center software.
  • Experience with Bentley (Microstation) skills is a plus.
  • Experience with VDOT surveys is a plus.
  • Experience with 3D laser scanning is a plus.
  • Experience with 3D survey drawings a plus.
  • Experience with Civil 3D a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
  • Must pass a mandatory drug test.
