Whether your project site is offshore or on land, you'll need advice on environmental impacts. With our environmental and consenting services, we support your project throughout the different phases of its life cycle. From project management to specialist topics, you'll be empowered to make informed decisions with us. And we'll work closely together to protect our endangered ecosystems.

The Field Geologist will be a self-starter who can work effectively in a remote setting and will be responsible for completing all facets of an environmental and geotechnical site investigation by environmental regulations, including project and task management, subcontractor and vendor coordination, reporting, and invoice management. This individual will also be tasked with client management and proposal preparation/lead generation.

This is a permanent position in our Baton Rouge, LA office

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with project execution in the field and office.
  • Perform geotechnical soil logging/classification/sampling and completion of boring logs.
  • Participate on project teams and perform environmental field exploration work, assisting in the preparation of reports.
  • Complete assignments in a timely, organized, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain changeability and become self-directed to identify ways to support the project manager.
  • Be able to travel extensively (required), predominately around the Gulf Coast.
  • Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures.
  • Support and encourage continuous improvement of the company's processes, including safety, environmental, and quality management systems.

Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or geology from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of geotechnical logging or environmental field investigation experience required.
  • Experienced with soil sampling, monitoring well installation, well sampling, UST removal observation, and sampling, soil vapor, and air sampling, knowledge of soil vapor extraction system operation, coordination of subcontractors, management of IDW, knowledge of regulatory framework governing the environmental practice, data validation, and tabulation, and reporting highly desired
  • Knowledge of proposal preparation and lead generation processes.
  • Technical writing skills required.
  • Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport, and the ability to travel internationally at times.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
