Description

The Activities Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing of the activities department including implementation of planned activities. The Activities Coordinator will participate in the development of resident's care plans and activities, participate in development and implementation of comprehensive care plans, and develop and coordinate activities.

1.) Assess each resident and participate in the development and implementation of the comprehensive plan of care.

2.) Develop a plan of measurable objectives consistent with the resident's care plan.

3.) Update care plan and progress notes regularly.

4.) Complete the activity component of the assessment in a timely manner upon admission to the facility.

5.) Participate in discharge planning.

6.) Plan, develop, organize, and implement activities that meet the needs of the residents.

7.) Make daily rounds to ensure activity team is performing to standards that residents' needs are being met.

8.) Communicate the monthly calendar activities to residents, families, and staff.

9.) Observe residents' mood, behavior, attendance, and degree of involvement at the various activities.

10.) Provide documentation of activities to be included in residents/clinical records.

11.) Maintain log of residence attendance.

12.) Assure that the Activities Department has adequate supplies and equipment.

Candidate must also be able to perform essential jobs functions assigned to a licensed practical nurse.

Qualifications

Position Requirements: Current Virginia License at time of hire date or must be able to show eligibility for licensure.

Education/Experience: No previous clinically related nursing experience required. The employee will complete a general orientation program of sufficient duration and content to prepare them for specific duties in the hospital within thirty (30) days of hire date. Unit specific orientation is completed on the nursing unit.

Special Qualifications: Must meet and maintain proficiency requirements of the unit. CPR card holder is required.
