Corrosion Engineer Project Manager
This Position is Contingent upon Contract Award
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Corrosion Engineer Project Manager who will provide key support to the Engineering Department.
Job Description:
  • Manage technical support provided to the Maintenance and Availability Planning Department with specific focus on processes and products associated with the development and implementation of corrosion control related mandatory maintenance strategies, maintenance of CMP corrosion control task data, tank planning reports, and analysis of CMP corrosion control task assessment results.
  • Manage external communications with senior Type Commander (TYCOM) staff, SURFMEPP Detachment staff, and Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) staff to identify and mitigate issues that may negatively impact the execution of corrosion control maintenance requirements.
  • Monitor performance measurements, by project and tasking, to maintain product quality control.
  • Promote continuous quality improvement and efficiency of technical support services provided.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or Arts or related field or equivalent experience and at least 7 years of program or project management experience.
  • Must have at least 5 years' experience in U.S. Navy surface ship corrosion control
  • Must have experience managing depot level U.S. Navy surface ship maintenance planning functions or direct experience related to U.S. Navy surface ship operations or maintenance planning and execution.
  • Must understand U. S. Navy surface ship maintenance and modernization end to end process, the JFMM planning process requirements, and the NAVSEA Corrosion Control Assessment and Maintenance Manual.
  • Must have knowledge of the Corrosion Control Information Management System, NMD, and the VSB and M&SWP automated information systems.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Prefer at least 5 years of experience in U.S. Navy ship depot level maintenance planning functions or at least 7 years progressive direct experience related to U.S. Navy surface ship operations or maintenance planning and execution.
  • Prefer experience in management or supervisory roles at a Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Repair, and Conversion command, Regional Maintenance Center, U.S. Navy Central Planning Activity, U.S. Navy Planning Yard Activity, or a Planning for Engineering and Repair Activity.
  • Prefer experience as a Naval Supervising Authority Project Manager or a U.S. Navy Port Engineer.
Security Requirements:
  • Must have an Active DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
Travel Requirements:
  • Occasional Travel- Less than 10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $110,000 per year
