    The Install Technician - Video performs hands on monitored security camera system installations and video system takeovers, and service as needed. The Technician interacts directly with the client, client representatives, other contractors and Kastle personnel to ensure a successful installs, service, and repair solutions. He/she assists Technical Project Managers with the design, installation, and service of monitored video surveillance systems as needed. Installation management assistance can include procurement, site walks, resource planning, scheduling and supervising activities that result in the successful commissioning of security systems at customer premises. System maintenance can include troubleshooting system issues, identifying the cause, procuring the needed resources, and managing/performing the repair.

    The Install Technician – Video will be expected to be the regional expert in Kastle Video system components (cameras, video gateways) as well as lead the solutions for taking over existing cameras (analog and IP) to be managed by the KastleVideo platform, or taking over existing video system managed by various third party management systems.

    Responsibilities
    • Performs system installs as needed. This includes installing cabling, cameras, encoders, converters, gateways, enclosures, racks, and other associated system equipment
    • Understands network bandwidth requirements for KastleVideo and works with the project manager and customer to establish necessary Internet bandwidth
    • Assists with system configuration and testing
    • Performs site surveys post sale, to gather information for video system designs.
    • Assists with the generation of design documents that are utilized during the video system installation and for system service
    • Assists with coordination between Kastle departments and client during implementation, effectively managing the needs and expectations of all stakeholders
    • Provides regular progress updates to all stakeholders
    • Provides training to customer on video management system
    • Provides on site system service/maintenance as needed
    • Stays up to date and knowledgeable in Kastle services, technology as well as internal processes and procedures
    • Familiar with the operation of Windows OS
    • Familiar with installing and troubleshooting wireless networks
    • Experienced with installing and troubleshooting security cameras and video management systems
    • Familiar with functionality of switches, routers, and gateways
    • Experienced installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic IP networks
    • Works from ladders and man lifts as needed
    Qualifications
    • Bachelors Degree
    • 3+ years of overall work experience in security and related IP video systems
    • Experience in working with third party video management systems, namely Genetec, Milestone, and Exacqvision, including any training and certifications
    • Experience with a variety of IP cameras, in particular Axis, and knowledge of how to interact with IP cameras through ONVIF standards
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and processes for providing project management support
    • Mechanical aptitude and thorough knowledge of hand and power tools
    • Electronics knowledge/background (AC/DC theory, series and parallel circuits, open/close loops) and ability and knowledge to use digital volt meters
    • Familiar with networking principles (IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPN, cabling)
    • Knowledge of MS Windows, IP, Ethernet, and networking/routing protocols.
    • Construction experience and knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optic, and security camera systems installation.
    • Experience operating man lifts is a plus.
