Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year. During the early 1960's, the fire and rescue service was a volunteer organization. As the community grew, it was understandable that to protect and meet the needs of the community, a more solid foundation was needed, hence Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue was created.
