General Information:

James Madison University, a Division I Member of the NCAA and Sun Belt Conference, is seeking an Athletics Video Assistant. This position is a part-time position working 1500 hours over the period of one year with no benefits. The anticipated start date is late July or early August.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Associate Director of Video Services and the Creative Services staff with content production to meet the needs of coverage of 18 sport programs at the NCAA Division I level.
• Shooting assignments at sporting events; editing game highlights and cinematic recaps; hype videos for video boards and social media; shooting green screen and editing content for social graphics, assisting and setting up for live events, and ensuring compliance with all relevant institutional, Sun Belt Conference and NCAA rules.
• Emphasis is placed on constantly evolving strategies and methods for video content for promotion of an athletics program in the digital age.

 

Qualifications:

• Experience in sports video content development.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Video filming techniques (shooting and editing) as well as proficiency with video production software, with preferred experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and other Adobe Creative Cloud elements.
• Knowledge of the video production process, camera operation, different camera and lens types, proper filming techniques, lighting design, audio production and the post-production process.
• Candidates must be highly motivated, energetic, be able to balance multiple tasks, produce high-quality work on tight deadlines and be able to manage a work schedule that includes some evening and weekend work.

 

Conditions of Employment:  

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.

This is a part-time wage position working up to an average of 29 hours per week over the course of a calendar year with no benefits.
