What You'll Do

Reporting to the Regional Environmental Manager, you gain manufacturing experience through working with Lab Chemist, Operations, and Management while completing determined projects and applying education.Some duties will include:

  • Provide laboratory support to plant operations.
  • Perform all analyses required by the Carthage, Missouri Plant.
  • Perform all routine quality control tests on all produced materials to include mixed acid, dynamite, emulsion, cast boosters, PETN, nitroglycerin, etc.
  • Provide document control support for all operations
  • Provide ISO 9001:2015support for laboratory
  • Understand shipping requirements for hazardous materials.
  • Maintain accurate ATF records for explosive materials, from receipt to interim magazine storage to disposition using the Daily Summary of Magazine Transaction (DSMT) forms.
  • Report abnormal test results to Lab Lead Chemist
  • Provide assistance when needed for the plant in any ISO, Quality, Environmental, or administrative needs.

What We're Looking For:

  • Junior or Senior level standing pursuing Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
  • Experience working in a team-orientated, collaborative environment.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills andcomputer application skills
  • Must be flexible to handle constantly changing business requirements.
  • Knowledge of explosives transportation methodologies.
  • Must satisfy the requirements for a "possessor of explosives" as defined by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment including High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatograph (GC), Infra-Red Spectrophotometer (IR), Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AA), and UV-Vis spectrophotometer.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
