Job Description

Position Title: Sr. Tax Accountant

Location: Richmond, VA

Position Description:

Our client is looking for a Sr. Tax Accountant for a position located in Richmond, VA. A fortune 500 company with over 60 offices in 20+ countries, our client holding company for insurance, reinsurance, specialist advisory and investment operations around the world. This position is responsible for compliance with tax aspects of US GAAP and SOX reporting, ensuring that the companies global financial statements accurately reflect the impact of tax. The Senior Tax Accountant-Reporting focuses on developing process improvements which support the global tax provision for the company and assists with special projects.

  • Prepare or perform first level review of quarterly and annual tax provision, ensuring compliance with GAAP and Statutory requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the global tax provision processes and assist with the implementation of those improvements.
  • Collaborate with accounting and finance department team members
  • Assist with special projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to translate and communicate technical tax issues to non-tax professionals

Required Education:

  • Bachelors of Arts or Science degree in Accounting or equivalent (eg Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting)

Certification:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license a plus

Work Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Corporate Tax/Accounting or Public Accounting.
  • Comfortable working with various software applications including Oracle and OneSource income tax provision.
