Description

Systems Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves technical and network problems
  • Identifies, researches and resolves end user problems related to the user's computing environment
  • Repairs and upgrades computer hardware as required
  • Ensures continuity of the computer systems for all system users
  • Researches software products and their applicability to the computing environment
  • Identifies, isolates and defines network issues and recommends solutions
  • Provides on-call technical support as needed
  • Trains users on network systems
  • Escalates problems to others in IT as necessary
  • Supports peripheral equipment such as printers, mice, keyboards, etc
  • Workstation set-up, configuration and installation of hardware and software
  • Performs basic Active Directory duties, including password resets, new accounts
  • Supports mobile phones and tablets
  • Assists manager with budgeting and scheduling
  • Provides guidance and training to junior level IT staff
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Ability to work well in a team environment

Organized individual who can handle multiple tasks and adjust priorities within deadlines

Ability to train and assist younger techs with support requests, documentation, and projects

Independent thinker who can provide meaningful ideas and suggestions for improving processes and policies

Programming/Development experience a plus

Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance as a significant amount of travel to other locations is required

Must be able to work early, late, extended hours and weekends when necessary

Physical Requirements:

There is frequent need for the employee to stand, sit, walk, complete repetitive small motor activities using hands, fingers and reach with hands and arms

The employee is occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs; to stoop, kneel, crouch and climb stairs

This position requires a high energy level and ability handle stressful situations

Experience/Education (minimum qualifications):

Bachelors degree in computer science or information technology related field

Desired Experience:

Essential Qualifications:

5 -10 years of experience working in an IT environment

5 years managing Windows Server 2008 r2, Windows 2012 R2, or Windows Server 2016

Proficient in Office365 administration , Microsoft Azure, and other cloud platforms

5 years managing a VMware VSphere environment

2 years experience with Datto, SpiceWorks, SolarWinds, and/or Great Plains preferred

5 years managing SonicWALL firewalls, Dell/HP managed Switches, and wireless technologies
