Title: Sr. Loan Operations Manager
Location: McLean, VA
Agency Servicing is part of the Commercial Loan Servicing organization and a part of Capital One's Banking Operations Division. This organization is critical to the success of the Commercial and Small Business strategy as the organization ensures accurate and timely execution of all required/requested transactions for some of the largest loans in the Bank's portfolio. These transactions are extremely complex in nature, and always involve external banks; therefore, these transactions must be executed with the care and sensitivity expected of such a high value asset.
The Senior Manager leads and manages the team responsible for servicing Commercial Agency relationships as well as Participations bought/sold.Maintains responsibility for team's overall performance, sets goals and develops plan for team. Partners with Commercial, Agency & Marketing organizations to deliver operational components of strategy and support for customers' needs. Delivers these results while ensuring compliance with regulatory, legal, and other statutory requirements, as part of a well managed environment.
Role & Responsibilities
Develop, lead, motivate and manage a team of associates responsible for servicing Commercial agency and participation loans and facilities
Set goals, develop plans, and execute to meet service levels
Identify areas for improvement
Manage relationship between key stakeholders of the loan servicing organization
Create, implement and deliver projects on an as needed basis
Manage compliance with regulations and ensure execution of key controls
Recognize and Reward individual’s contribution
Skills & Experience
Experience managing large and complex Commercial loan portfolios that include participations (bought and sold) and syndications (agency and member)
Experience dealing directly with servicing organizations of other financial institutions
Understanding of commercial credit documentation, in particular agency credit agreements
Be self-motivated, able to support and initiate change in periods of uncertainty and ambiguity
Have good attention to detail
Have a strong ability to manage his or her own time effectively and be a self-starter who is able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills
Proven customer service skills
Highly organized with an ability to remain focused and flexible to an ever changing environment
Ability to assimilate data from various sources and make accurate judgment based decisions
Ability to take ownership and solve problems autonomously

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree
• 3 years operations experience
• 2 years team lead/supervisory/management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree BA or BS in Business, Finance
• 2 years in project, risk or administrative management
• 5+ years in a commercial banking operations environment, including large corporate
• 3+ years experience in commercial banking operations and/or agency servicing
• 3+ years in an agency servicing environment
• 3+ years direct management experience
• 3+ years in a project environment including procedure development, process documentation, continuous improvement
• 2+ years experience managing and implementing risk management and controls (e.g. procedures, control testing, SarbOx Mgmt, CRA) in operational environments
• Proven leadership in large organizations, effective influencing, problem solving and analytic skills
• Advanced/Masters Degree, MBA
