C.N.A. - MED TELE WMC
Department: MED TELEMETRY STEP-DOWN
Schedule: Fulltime
Shift: Day,Night,Evening,Rotating,Weekend
Hours: 12 hr 6a-6p with rotation

Starting Pay Range: $10.29 - $13.38

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Certified by the Virginia Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide or eligible for certification by endorsement as a Certified Nurse Aide by the Virginia Board of Nursing.

(or)

* Recent graduate of a nurse aide education program approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing. Must provide a Certificate of Completion as a Geriatric Nurse Aide. Must have applied to take the Virginia NNAAP for CNA certification in the state of Virginia. Individuals in this category may practice pending state certification for up 120 calendar days from date of hire if employed in Lynn Care Center or Sub Acute Rehabilitation. If employed in any other acute care setting within VHS, individuals may practice pending state certification for up to 180 calendar days from the date of hire.

(or)

* Current enrollment in a regional RN or LPN program such as: Shenandoah University, Shepherd College, James Madison University, University of Virginia, James Rumsey Technical Institute, Lord Fairfax Community College, or Page County Technical Center. Must have completed the first semester of clinical experience successfully. Must provide one letter of recommendation from the director of the program or from a clinical instructor addressing completion of basic skill training in a clinical setting and good work habits. The letter shall also state that the student is currently enrolled and in good standing and include the anticipated date of graduation. May work in any clinical area within VHS except for the Lynn Care Center or the Subacute Rehabilitation Unit, in accordance with the Virginia Board of Nursing regulations.

* Current employment at VHS as an RNA or LPNA but has failed the first NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN attempt and is waiting to retest. These individuals may work in a Nursing Assistant capacity for up to twelve (12) calendar months from the date of the first NCLEX attempt. During the first six (6) calendar months, must retest for NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN. If unsuccessful after a second attempt to pass NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN, may continue to work as a Nursing Assistant for an additional six (6) months. During the second six (6) months, must successfully complete NCLEX-RN/NCLEX-PN, or NNAAP exam, and obtain corresponding licensure/certification from the Virginia Board of Nursing prior to the 365th day worked.

* May work in any clinical area within VHS except for the Lynn Care Center or the Subacute Rehabilitation Unit, in accordance with the Virginia Department of Health regulations.

(or)

* Currently licensed as an RN or LPN in the State of Virginia, but employed in a CNA capacity.

* High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

* Knowledgeable in the basic stages of human growth and development and competent to provide care appropriate to the age group of patients served.

* FBI fingerprinting for Behavioral Health and Float Pool

* Central Registry for Behavioral Health, Healthy Families, Float Pool, Labor & Delivery, NICU,
Maternal/Child and/or Family Birthing Staff, Pediatrics, and Women's Care Center - WMH

* WV State Police fingerprinting for NWV Home Health and HMH
