Position Description:
Provide Aircraft Carrier Life Cycle Engineering support to Carrier Planning Activity (CPA). Duties include development and management of issues dealing with life cycle strategies for ship distributed systems and selected components, assisting in development/maintenance of the Aircraft Carrier Class Maintenance Plan (ACCMP), developing and executing ACCMP continuous improvement processes, and validating maintenance requirements and ship configurations. The position incumbent will participate in IPTs and other collaborative bodies. The qualified applicant will have significant ship maintenance planning and execution experience, and a comprehensive understanding of maintenance strategies. Familiarity with the Aircraft Carrier Class Maintenance Plan (ACCMP), cost/manday analysis, and material assessment processes required.
Education Requirements:
College degree or significant experience required. Technical or engineering degree is a plus, as is Navy acquisition program experience. Associates or Bachelor in any technical or engineering discipline a plus! 15 years experience in the operation/maintenance, repair and test of naval shipboard equipment and systems including 10 years experience with Aircraft Carrier maintenance issues.
Experience Requirements:
The qualified individual will work as part of a multidisciplinary team on technical issues, development and problem solving tasks. Must be willing to take on assignments which span the entire Aircraft Carrier lifecycle management process. Must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Some travel may be required. Must hold current U.S. Government security clearance, or be capable of getting one. U.S. Citizenship required.
