Position Description


Treasury Management Product Development Leader

Summary:
To develop profitable Treasury Management products and services that meet the needs of our targeted corporate markets and the strategic goals of the Treasury Management line of business. Develop detailed product requirements; leads applicable development teams and conducts product research, risk reviews, development and legal/audit reviews; and formulates/implements marketing and training strategies to launch the new services. The manager oversees the development of all products and services to maintain or enhance competitive positions in conjunction with Product Management staff. The responsibilities include planning, directing, organizing, controlling and implementing the products and services commensurate with the objective of the business unit and Capital One. Supervisory responsibility for department employees, to include coaching, training and counseling.

Responsibilities:

Expert technical knowledge of developing products including operational, legal, industry aspects of product, as well as understanding of market dynamics associated with product.
Represents product development team for mergers and conversions.
Mentor, coach, and play a leadership role with other Product Developers and bank personnel on product issues.
Assists in the sourcing, interviewing, and selection of candidates for openings. Identifies and secures training for new hires.
Recommends appropriate technology to met strategic objectives of business unit or product.
Participates in specific customer meetings with Product Manager and Client Services.
Generate/analyze new ideas and translate into feasible solutions.
Perform high-level business plan analysis.
Develop detailed business case and requirement definitions.
Request and lead in product research and applicable development teams to ensure standards and requirements are met.
Design/develop appropriate new product management reporting mechanisms.
Ensures new product delivery meets analysis-billing requirements.
Designs, develops and conducts internal training to effectively launch new product/service.
Implements customer notification and manages customer conversions.
Coordinates efforts with other applicable business units to design and develop integrated market launch for new products/services.
Develops detailed profitability and volume estimates.
Provides information to support the design of internal and external marketing tools, including appropriate training.
Develop and enhance professional rapport with all areas of the bank.
Ability to size and plan projects of broad scope with numerous bank interfaces.
Supervises the activities of Product Managers and Assistants to include hiring, work assignments, appraisals and salary.
Recommends promotions, terminations and salary adjustments for subordinates. Interviews job applicants and recommends them for hire. Trains, counsels and disciplines subordinates on job performance. Controls department workflow to accomplish assigned tasks.
Recruit and effectively plan for departmental staffing needs.

Basic Qualifications:


4 year college degree.
5 years of product management or development experience, or 6 years experience in bank operations, preferably in a supervisor’s capacity, or 8 years of treasury/cash management industry related experience either within a Corporate Treasury or Non-credit services product management.
3 years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

College degree in Marketing, Finance, Computer Science or Management. Masters in Business
Administration preferred.
Certified Treasury Professional designation
Accredited ACH Professional designation
