Job Description
- This role will also help establish and document the appropriate internal controls environment and assure compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). Post-implementation, this position will transfer to a business finance role which capitalizes on the super-user qualifications gained during the project.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership of the project accounting function throughout the various stages of the SAP implementation.
- Quickly assimilate business needs into prototype requirements to adequately test SAP/Dassian government contracting capabilities for robustness and compliance in all high risk areas
- Draw upon extensive experience and analysis of Serco business requirements in developing new system requirements during blueprinting
- Take a major role in realization, test and go-live phases by creating realistic and complex scenarios that reflect real or potential contractual deliverables
- Drive change throughout the operation to assure realization of productivity benefits
- Work with external consultants to assure compliance and the ability to demonstrate same to DCAA and internal/external Serco auditors
- Revision of applicable policies and procedures
Responsible for all operations of the firm's estimating function. Leads cost research efforts to determine scope, sources, processes, modeling and staff requirements. Leads techincal and business task proposal development efforts. Constructs cost estimates and models for customer to use in determining project costs through use of accepted industry standards, modeling tools and techniques. Expert in use of various cost estimating methods. Develops Cost Estimating Relationships (CERs) and performs Risk Assessments. Calculates Net Present Value and Return on Investment. Develops additional program milestone decision documents such as Life Cycle Cost Estimates, Business Case Analyses, budget exhibits and cost analysis requirements.
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or business administration
- 8+ years prior work experience in project accounting in government contracting with practical experience with payroll systems, material & sub-contract systems, indirect cost allocations, invoice creation and contract-level revenue recognition
- Working knowledge of FAR, CAS, and DCAA audit requirements
- Experience with large ERP systems or conversions to large ERP systems. SAP, experience a plus.
- Expert knowledge of Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excellent communication skills.
- A keen ability to work with others to mentor and influence change.
