Knowledge of pharmacy, chemistry and/or biochemistry is required.

A degree in the health sciences or an advanced degree in biochemistry or molecular biology is also desired.

Experience with drug or biomedical terminologies also highly desired.
Specific Job Description This position consists of researching and editing a variety of health information vocabularies that are part of both the UMLS Metathesaurus and RxNorm Projects. The primary task will be creating standard names for clinical drugs. Knowledge of drug information sources such as First Data Bank, Multum, MeSH, Micromedex, and Medispan is desired but not essential.
Standard Job Description Performs scientific experiments, investigations, observations and related research studies into the nature and operation of natural phenomena in a particular field, using the scientific methods. Develops theories for understanding, characterizing and organizing natural phenomena into a systematic and meaningful pattern for the benefit of project advancement and emerging technologies.
