Position/Internship Description

DC Prep, a public charter school, is seeking unpaid interns for the spring of 2010. Interns will work a minimum of 10 hours per work to provide administrative support to DC Prep's Home office. Depending on experience, interest, and availability, interns can assist in the areas of assessment, development, operations, or recruitment, or at one of three DC Prep campuses, assisting with front desk operations.



DC Prep (www.dcprep.org) is a different kind of public school, dedicated to preparing its graduates for success in college-preparatory high schools. Students are engaged in a rigorous academic curriculum, participate in a comprehensive character education program, and take enrichment classes daily.

Responsibilities:
-Call and assist families with the student application and registration process;
-Support data entry needs for student information, attendance, grade, and development tracking systems;
-Provide logistical support in preparation for and at school events and off-campus events in support of student or faculty recruitment needs;
-Answer phones and assist callers;
-Operating office equipment including copiers, facsimile machines, computers and scanners; organize and maintain document filing.

-Ability to multi-task projects, people and events to get the job done;
-Excellent computer skills, including fluency with Microsoft Word and Excel;

-Total reliability and trustworthiness; and
-A sense of humor.
