Position Description

Job Title Resident Services Director
Job Description Archstone is one of the nation's leading owners, operators, developers and acquirers of apartments in major metropolitan areas across the country.


Summary

Manages and oversees the Resident Concierge Program, including: Selection, Training, Customer Service, Program Implementation and Upgrades, Standardization and the appearance of the front desk and front desk associates for the East Region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned.



  • Works with Operations Manager and Human Resources to develop job duties and specifications for the Resident Concierge position based on market needs and legal regulations.
  • Participates in the interview and selection process to hire Resident Concierges.
  • Manages the design and implementation of on-boarding new Resident Concierges
  • Develops and conducts ongoing professional training for Resident Concierges (RCs).
  • Works with the Site Manager to manage and monitor the work performance of RCs.
  • Communicates quality performance to all RCs and Operation Managers quarterly.
  • Work with Site Manager to ensure RCs perform essential job functions for their shifts.
  • Conducts appropriate audits, surveys or studies to determine program quality, efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Supports all Archstone policies and regulations.
  • Consults with Operations Managers and Site Managers concerning staffing best practices.
  • Recommends, develops and implements changes in systems and procedures to promote greater efficiency, cost savings and other benefits to the Company.
  • Maintains the Preferred Provider network such as dry cleaning, housekeeping, etc. based on market needs.
  • Oversees the efforts of the Team Leaders. Helps train and provide them the training tools needed for success. Conduct conference calls as needed.
  • Resolves escalated resident concerns about Preferred Provider Services.
  • Handles contract negotiations and renewals for preferred service providers,
  • Works with the Marketing Department to create marketing collateral for Resident Concierge use.
  • Works with the Operations team to create new programs and initiatives.
  • Oversees and manages temporary companies in regional markets as needed.
  • Ability to execute ideas so that business goals and needs for the market are met.
  • Directly supervises associates in the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University; two-to-four years in hospitality or customer service industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Supervisory and management experience required
  • Demonstrated achievement implementing customer service initiatives.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Former Concierge experience or experience managing a Concierge team preferred
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Intermediate Outlook, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Ability to travel frequently to regions supported
