The role of the Federal Account Manager is to retain and grow Westlaw revenue and user preference. The role responsibilities are achieved through teaching legal research, selling the value of Westlaw and marketing Westlaw efficiencies and advantages.
Major Responsibilities:
- Retain and grow customer base
- Provide high quality account management and customer support services to assigned accounts.
- Draft, negotiate, present and implement contracts.
- Establish solid, long-term customer relationships and cultivate new business opportunities by diagnosing needs, presenting solutions and addressing customer concerns.
- Educate customers on the benefits and effective use of Westlaw
- Partner with West Federal Government Sales Consultants to facilitate new sales
- Coordinate training efforts with the regional team of specialists
- Coordinate local and national training & marketing efforts within assigned accounts.
- Stay current on market trends and customer needs
- Assist other market segments as needed.
- Work both independently and as a member of a larger team; 50-70% of time is spent on-site at DC, MD and VA customer locations
- Comply with all administrative responsibilities on a timely basis
- Construct a weekly routine of communication with team members to drive, retention and growth
Qualifications- J.D. Required
- Legal practice experience preferred
- Bar membership preferred
- Strong communication, and presentation skills required
- Ability to travel to sales training, meetings and to customer locations
- Customer service orientation and experience
- Successful sales experience a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office/internet
