| Duties: |
Lead on-site (Program Office) and matrix support for the development of the advanced visible imagery payload for the Next Generation Electro-Optical (NGEO) collection system. Primary duties include: planning and executing the acquisition strategy for the visible payload; CONOPS refinement; requirements maturation and flow-down into specific designs; hardware and software development and sell-off; and integration of the visible payload into the overall NGEO Collection Segment. This position will be responsible for orchestrating a broad range of technical disciplines associated with visible payloads - detectors and associated electronics, manufacturing and test, performance, calibration, thermal, opto-mechanical, etc. Further, the selected candidate will be at the forefront of SPO acquisition activities - SOW and RFP development, evaluation of contractor proposals, and planning and executing SRRs, PDRs, CDRs and other major milestones. The position will also be responsible for coordinating and integrating ETG matrix support for visible payload activities. Frequent travel within the CONUS is required. This position is located in Chantilly, Virginia. |
| Qualifications: | B.S. (an advanced degree preferred) in a scientific or engineering discipline related to visible imagery sensors with a minimum of 12 years experience is required. Experience with sensor requirements, design and verification is required. Demonstrated ability to coordinate and integrate support from a matrix engineering organization to satisfy Program needs is required. Ability to work individuals and in joint government/contractor teams is required. Experience with Space Program Offices acquisition practices is desired. Superior verbal and written communications skills are required. Current SBI and successful polygraph is required. |
