Position Summary:
The Global Fundraising Director (GFD) is responsible for developing and maximizing fundraising income from outside of the USA through ChildFund Alliance members; through developing fundraising activities in selected program countries as well as developing fundraising programs in new markets.
Developing and increasing global fundraising income is a strategic objective. The (GFD) leads a team of staff to evaluate fundraising opportunities, develop fundraising plans and implement fundraising programs.
Position Objectives:

ChildFund Alliance Members:
• To analyze and invest in fundraising opportunities that exists across the ChildFund Alliance network.
• Develop investment criteria by which fundraising investments will be decided and evaluated.
• To maintain close working relations with fundraisers and other senior staff in the ChildFund Alliance network to encourage them to implement global fundraising best practices.
• To develop and monitor fundraising investment agreements between ChildFund and ChildFund Alliance members.
• To proactively introduce new fundraising techniques and programs to ChildFund Alliance members.
• To leverage fundraising activities across the network to assist in developing a culture of best practice fundraising which leads to increased revenue.
• To achieve agreed fundraising budgets.
Fund Raising Offices (FROs)
• To evaluate fundraising potential in existing program countries.
• Develop investment criteria by which fundraising investments will be decided and evaluated.
• Develop fundraising plans for the implementation and launch of fundraising activities within the country.
• Review the performance of the fundraising programs used to ensure that they are performing to expected levels and if not revise the programs or seek to invest funds in other activities.
• Work with members of the operational team to ensure that operational considerations are included and considered as part of all fundraising plans.
• To maintain close working relations with fundraisers and other senior staff in the FROs to encourage them to implement global fundraising best practice.
• To develop and monitor fundraising investment agreements between ChildFund and FROs.
• To monitor budgetary income and expenses within the office to ensure that goals are achieved and the adherence to expense budgets.
• To establish relationships within country agencies to provide support and assistance to the local FRO offices
• To build fundraising capacity in the FRO staff, regional staff and partner Boards through fundraising training and conferences. Particular training needs to be provided to the Fundraising Director within each of the FROs.
• To achieve agreed fundraising budgets.
New Markets
• To analyze fundraising opportunities that exist within markets where ChildFund is not currently present.
• Develop investment criteria by which fundraising investments will be decided and evaluated in new markets.
• Direct and manage the process of establishing and launching fundraising activities in new markets;
• To achieve agreed fundraising budgets
Qualifications/Experience/Qualities:
• A university degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
• At least five years of senior international fundraising experience.
• Must have previously lead a fundraising team.
• Must be a highly skilled direct marketer.
• Dedicated, goal-oriented, self-driven, independent a self-starter.
• Excellent time management, project management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and produce quality products.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills. Must have excellent both written and oral communications skills in English required.
• Demonstrated high level interpersonal skills, to include the ability to build relationships both internally and externally, relating effectively to people at all levels and the ability to work well with diverse population.
• Effective under pressure, results oriented and proactive.
• Must possess strong computer skills –word-processing and spreadsheets.
• Flexible approach, high-energy and enthusiasm with a can do spirit.
• A commitment to the mission and to the work.
• International non-profit experience a plus.
• Extensive international travel is required. Must be available and willing to travel at least six months of the year.
• Frequent evening and week-end work required.
