Position Description
CEEPCO is completing construction quality management and commissioning support services for a new state of the art facility for a secure agency within the General Services Administration (GSA). The next phase is the provision of Operations and Maintenance services and we are currently seeking an Operations and Maintenance Chief Engineer with significant experience in facilities management (CFM preferred). Need a Lead Engineer to manage the O & M of a new Federal facility with complex mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. Services include: facilities management, operations and maintenance, environmental compliance, engineering, emergency management, and support services for mail management. This is a restricted access facility and employees will be required to go through background investigation.
The Chief Engineer must have a minimum of 10 years experience in operations and maintenance of a large plant, facility, base or municipality; with specific experience in the operation and maintenance of building operations.
The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the program for diagnosing, calibrating or repairing electric, HVAC, plumbing and pneumatic control systems; interpreting architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire system diagrams or drawings for large facilities; and providing engineering guidance for technical proposals. The Engineer will operate and maintain systems that provide an establishment with such services as heat, air-conditioning (cool, humidify, dehumidify, filter, and circulate air), refrigeration, steam or high-temperature water or electricity. Duties involve and are not limited to: observing and interpreting readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system's operation, adjusting controls to insure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided, recording in logs various aspects of the system's operation, keeping the engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order. This engineer may direct and coordinate activities of other workers in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems.
