Green Door is a community program that prepares women and men with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses to work and live independently in the District of Columbia. Green Door is recognized nationally as one of the most successful programs for people with mental illness. Since 1976, Green Door has helped thousands of people with mental illnesses from hospitals, homeless shelters, and community mental health centers to reclaim their lives.

Position Overview:
Green Door is seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor or Masters level clinician to lead groups for individuals recovering from co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance use disorders). By building collaborative relationships with staff and consumers, the COD Specialist promotes a culture of recovery at the Green Door. Duties include:

• Leading 8 to 10 groups per week utilizing an evidence-based curriculum for individuals with co-occurring disorders.
• Administering the ASI and other assessments.
• Collaborating with other clinicians and serving as a resource in treatment planning for individuals with co-occurring disorders.
• Assisting consumers in connecting to other community resources such as residential treatment and 12-step groups.
• Aiding in the development of relapse prevention plans.

Salary is negotiable based on education and experience.

Qualifications:
• Licensure in DC as a Licensed Professional Counselor or working towards licensure.
• Recent experience conducting groups and individual treatment for individuals with co-occurring disorders.
