Summary:
Stanley has an exciting leadership opportunity for a results-oriented professional to join the Finance and Accounting team in a dynamic, fast paced environment. The Director of Accounting Operations reports to the Corporate Controller and manages the following general accounting functions at the company’s corporate headquarters in Arlington, VA (located directly across from the Metro Station in Clarendon):

Payroll/Labor
Billing/Collections
Accounts Payable

Specific Duties:

* Responsible for day to day management of accounting functions
* Workflow analysis
* Implementation of process improvement opportunities (best practices)
* Integration of target companies in M&A activities
* Supervises and manages the professional development of the accounting staff
* Special projects
* Oversees a staff of 25-30 through direct report managers

Required Knowledge - Skills - and Abilities:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 10 years directly related work experience required.

Additional Requirements:

* Ability to successfully complete the Stanley Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment; Additionally, your ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment.
* Thorough knowledge of GAAP
* Experience in government contracting industry
* Planning, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities
* Ability to work independently to prioritize work and complete projects with general direction
* Initiative and creativity in suggesting and researching relevant process improvement opportunities
* Knowledge of financial system integration with non-financial applications
* Working knowledge of Deltek, Costpoint and ADP

Desired Knowledge - Skills - and Abilities:
Preferred:

* Advanced degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education; MBA or CPA preferred
