Position Description

Title: Family Group Leader
Part-Time (30hr/wk)
Hours: 6:30 am - 8:30 am and 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm (Monday -Friday).

Job Description:

Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsible for developing and implementing a high quality after-school program for,Pre-School - 8th grade, children by creating a program that:

•Follows and supports site administrator and site expectations to achieve program quality.
•Has a balance of child-initiated and teacher-guided children’s activities to facilitate teaching and learning through the implementation of an identified pre-k curricular framework.
•Encourages a respectful, relationship-based atmosphere conductive to nurturing each individual child and family as well as team-building among classroom teaching staff members.
•Supports a collaborative atmosphere with school staff that is professional and consistently in the best interest of the children, families and program.
•Actively participates in ongoing professional development and encourages staff to grow professionally through books, periodicals, professional organizations, meetings, and study, as well as participating constructively in staff meetings, discussions, and assignments.
•Supports families to participate in their children’s educational experiences.
•Collaboratively works with site administrator and classroom teaching team to support curricular goals.


Duties Include:
•Implementing program goals and objectives by supporting children in daily programs that focus on strengthening academic and social skills.
•Working as part of a team to mutually support other staff in successfully reaching program goals.
•Providing constant supervision of all children assigned to the center
•Teaching and creating lessons
•Facilitating Academy Enrichment Activities
•Supervising recreation time
•Distributing healthy snacks and supervise snack time
•Overseeing and managing the day-to-day behavior of the children and address behavior issues (with support from the Site Coordinator as needed)
•Cleaning and organizing educational space at the end of each day
•Attend staff and supervision meetings
•Attend any other meetings, seminars, conferences as assigned by your supervisor
•Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding CAPCS and its staff
•Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor

Additional Qualifications:
•Completed at least 48 credit hours from an accredited institution,
•Preferred applicants will have teaching experience-whether in a classroom, camp or after-school setting where planning was involved,
•Experience working with children,
•Dedication to teaching children and youth through creative and engaging activates
•Pass pre-employment background investigation including but not limited to employment history and criminal background check.
•Bi-Lingual a plus
