| Specific Job Description |
Successful candidate will be a Senior Building Operator(Operating Engineer) having on-shift, lead responsibility for operating and maintaining building high voltage electrical distribution system, chillers, diesel generators, and HVAC. Will provide leadership and direction to assigned building operators and maintenance personnel. Will monitor assigned equipment and systems locally and remotely, respond to alarms, and make periodic tours, recording required data in operating logs. May be required to inspect equipment and perform preventive maintenance measures and routine operational adjustments. Respond to site emergencies. Minimum requirements: High School, technical school, or trade school graduate or apprenticeship. Universal CFC certification. 3 - 5 years experience in operation and/or maintenance of major mechanical and electrical utility systems at a large facility or central plant. Thorough knowledge of power plant/facility equipment to include chillers, generators, boilers, compressors, diesels, HVAC systems, chemical treatment, plumbing, electrical switchgear, and UPS. 1-3 years supervisory experience, Computer skills, a plus. Class 1 Steam Engineer License or equivalent license, a plus. Good oral and written communication skills. Willingness to work rotational shifts, including days, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends, as required. Must subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. |
