The Lewin Group seeks Senior Managers in their Falls Church, Virginia location to support its consulting work with federal and state governments, foundations, and associations on projects relating to Medicaid and CHIP policy analysis, program financing, administration, and evaluation.
Senior Manager key responsibilities include:
  • Managing two to four consulting engagements simultaneously under the direction of a Project Director
  • Supervising and mentoring of junior-level analysts and researchers on projects
  • Conceptualizing and implementing work plans for consulting engagements
  • Assisting with client management, including assuring timely communication with client
  • Acting as a subject matter resource to colleagues in one or more areas and developing reputation with clients as a substantive expert
  • Managing large proposal writing efforts and contributing to writing of proposals and other business development activities
  • Consistently demonstrating leadership through commitment to high quality consulting services and client deliverables, contributing to high levels of client satisfaction, providing opportunities for professional development of staff, expanding own knowledge base and consulting skills, and assuming greater levels of responsibility
Qualifications
Qualification for this position includes:
  • A completed Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics or related field
  • 6-10+ years of progressively responsible work experience in Medicaid-related policy research, data analysis, consulting, or public program administration is required
  • In-depth knowledge of Medicaid and CHIP program policies and regulations relating to reimbursement, benefits, and eligibility is required
  • Familiarity with different state program designs and MMIS systems is highly desired
  • Experience organizing and supervising the work of others is required
  • Experience in data analysis using state Medicaid or CHIP claims and eligibility data, including for managed care or fee-for-service rate setting, utilization analysis, or program evaluation, is highly desired
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with clients and other outside audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • The ability to work effectively independently or in teams
  • Strong quantitative skills and facility with statistical software highly desired
  • Direct experience managing client projects is a plus
