Specific Job Description Position is in support of the operations for Lockheed Martin's enterprise wide Health and Wellness medical centers network. Senior Medical Assistant position requires ability to speak clearly and comfortably to and use tact, discretion and sensitivity in dealing with patients. Position requires ability to deal courteously and efficiently with Wellness Center personnel and other LMC personnel. Additionally, position requires that selected candidate be able to be credentialed as a health care provider, meet the physical requirements for the position and be able to wear/use a respirator (N-95 filtering face piece or higher).

Position will be primarily responsible for the following:
-Greets and escorts patients and visitors at the Wellness Center. Addresses needs for privacy and sensitivity in patient interactions.
-Performs front and back office duties such as answering phone, scheduling appointments, check-in and check-out processing.
-Screens calls and visitors to determine the nature of the call and/or request.
-Performs various data entry and information retrieval tasks using the electronic medical record.
-Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of Physician, Mid-level Practitioner, or Registered Nurse in compliance with state practice acts and regulations.
-Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in the patient’s medical record and completes appropriate clinical and administrative forms and paperwork.
-Assists with patient care under supervision of provider.
-Performs phlebotomy and collection of lab specimens.
-Performs ancillary testing.
-Performs drug screen collections for both DOT and non-DOT drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensures preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory.
-Administers immunizations and injections and treatments as per certification and state regulations.
-Maintains and operates all clinical equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policies and procedures.
-Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination.
-Inventories and orders medications, medical supplies and materials.
-Maintains comfortable, orderly, safe and clean environment.
-Performs administrative tasks and other duties that may be assigned.
-Maintains patient privacy and confidential patient information.

Standard Job Description Assists physicians in examination and treatment of patients, and performs clerical tasks related to administration of office. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Interviews patients and checks pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight and height. Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment. Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed. Collects and prepares specimens for shipment to medical laboratories. Takes electrocardiograms. Telephones prescriptions to pharmacy, and authorizes refills as directed. Schedules appointments; arranges for hospital admission and laboratory services; receives money for bills; completes insurance forms; maintains financial records; and records and files patient charts and medical records. May use computer to conduct administrative duties. Certified Medical Assistant required.
