With offices located in Washington, DC and Germantown, MD Project Enhancement Corporation (PEC) is a technical services business focused on providing Project Management and specialized consulting services in the areas of nuclear materials and facilities disposition within the DOE and commercial power industry.
Founded in 1998 to provide solutions to project and engineering managers in the nuclear industry, Project Enhancement Corporation (PEC) is known for high value products and services. PEC has extensive experience providing professional engineering services to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) both at Headquarters in Washington, DC and Germantown, MD and Field Operations throughout the United States. Other customers include the Army Corp of Engineers, NASA, Fluor Hanford Services, Savannah River Nuclear Services, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, and DOE’s National Nuclear Security Administration.
PEC employs 147 staff, associates and consultants with the majority holding advanced degrees. The average staff experience is more than 20 years in providing similar technical, engineering and analytical support to DOE, other government agencies, and commercial clients. Our corporation has managed and performed on eleven prime contracts to DOE totaling over $80 million. PEC staff are recognized as environmental management subject matter experts across the DOE complex. Our waste management and environmental restoration professionals average over 20 years of experience gained working in DOE’s cleanup program as well as various other Federal and State environmental management programs. We currently have contracts to provide subject matter experts in a wide variety of disciplines to support our clients in the management of their programs. Employment Position: Technical Editor/Research Analyst
Responsibilities:
• Work closely with engineers, scientists and other to create, revise and edit technical documents and deliverables.
• Research various organizations and apply that research to our client’s needs.
• Develop reports or presentations as required by the client.
• Write technical information in easily understandable language.
• Ability to review multiple information systems for relevant documents; retrieve these documents and incorporate them to the EM-Portal Project Library.
• Configuration and document control for the library and office site in the EM-Portal.
• Track documents approval schedule and delivery dates.
• Manage multiple document projects at the same time, under challenging environment and response schedules.
• Attend client meetings and document their outcome, reporting the results back to management.
• Maintain communication with varied contacts within the client’s many work sites.
• Maintain initiative, flexibility, and cooperation in a team environment.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 5 or more years of technical writing experience in the fields of Engineering/Science - Chemical, Mechanical, Nuclear or Environmental.
• Knowledge of the Project Management and Government Strategic Planning Experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated writing, and editing skills in the creation of documents, plans, procedures & and proposals.
• Extensive experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including advanced word processing using Microsoft Word, as well as, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
• Comfortable extrapolating information from multiple databases and generating reports on the results.
• Willingness to work directly with clients in an environment that changes rapidly, and requires occasional long hours.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work independently.
• Ability to meet the requirements for a DOE security clearance and Building Access badge.
• Able to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment, including extensive use of computers.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of DOE sites and types of operation a plus.
• Knowledge of the EM Program and work at HQ and site level.
• Experience in the EM Departmental Management Program, Waste Treatment and Disposition, D&D, Materials Stabilization.
• Knowledge of Regulatory Assessments (NEPA performance assessments).
