Position Description
Community Connections, is a nationally recognized private, not-for-profit mental health agency in Washington, D.C. providing comprehensive services to mentally ill adults, children and their families. Services include intensive case management, trauma services, dual diagnosis treatment, housing, psychiatric care, supported employment and psychotherapy. Consumers have histories of trauma, domestic violence, substance abuse, HIV and homelessness.
We are seeking Residential Counselors who have a passion for providing support to marginalized, disabled residents of the District of Columbia. The prospective employee will work independently, providing mental health services to a caseload of an average of 7-8 mentally ill adults in a home that would include: Housekeeping skills, cooking/meal preparation, nutrition, medication management, interpersonal skills, setting boundaries skills, crisis intervention, etc.
Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 1 years experience with the chronically mentally ill and/or dual diagnosed adult population.
Must be certified in First Aid, CPR and the Heimlich maneuver. Must have (or immediately begin the process to obtain) a Food Sanitation permit.
Salary $12.10/hr
