The Enterprise Architect (EA) plays a critical role in the C4I Group’s objective to provide capability assurance at the client level. The position operates in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment in support of customer initiatives.

The Enterprise Architect leads a technical team to support the production of a set of interrelated products and services that ultimately set the client’s strategic agenda and define the project objectives, problem statement, and solution architectures (operations, facility, systems, information management/decision support).

The EA works in a matrixed organization with direct reporting to the Technical & Organizational Development Manager. The Enterprise Architect functions as a technical team lead on a single, large project or multiple, smaller projects.

SPECIFIC TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide expertise and mentoring on the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Core Architecture Data Model (CADM)
  • Provide a thorough understanding of interrelationships and impacts of systems and applications based upon the enterprise wide technical environment
  • Develop visual EA models that support client leadership understanding and goverenance of technology principles and roadmaps
  • Recommend technological application programs to accomplish long-range client objectives
  • Support C4I Project Leads in establishing client relationships, assessing issues, and proposing project solutions
  • Provide a leadership role in the development of Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) compliant architectures, system design, data model, and security architecture
  • Work with other Technical Leads to determine correct technical solutions for specific client initiatives, including projecting the level of effort, technical mix of skills, and schedule for completion
  • Work with a project team to identify requirements for projects based on an understanding of the client’s mission and operational needs; these requirements will include baseline hardware, system, facility, and personnel requirements
  • Required Experience
    Requirements:
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Master's degree is desirable
  • Working knowledge of the FEAF and DoDAF
  • Professional etiquette and ability to interact with technicians, professionals, and executives in both industry and government
  • Exceptional oral, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Superior organizational and prioritization skills
  • Punctuality, consistency, and ability to meet deliverable deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, quality, and professionalism
  • Self-starter and problem solver with strong ability to work independently in areas of core competence with minimal guidance
  • Ability to work well in team environments of varying composition, personalities, roles, and responsibilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and ability to master similar productivity tools
  • Creative ability to think and communicate thoughts both in terms of structured narrative and visual imagery (graphics)
  • Active awareness of industry trends and technologies in relevant areas of subject-matter interests (Homeland Security, Congressional Agenda, etc.)
  • Willingness to share information, train and be trained, mentor and be mentored with executives, peers, and subordinates
