United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, (UFCW) a powerful voice for working men and women, is seeking Organizers at various levels around the country to give workers a voice in the workplace.

Positions: Organizer in Training, Organizer
The Organizer-in-Training is trained to play an effective role in an organizing campaign by engaging workers to take action to win a voice in the workplace. The Organizer will probe and start organizing programs, develop worker committees and conduct house calls to workers. The Organizer will learn how to engage non-union workers in campaigns with members, the community, political allies and other constituents as well as learn how to mentor and train new and less experience organizers.
We are hiring activists with various levels of experience. A demonstrated commitment to social justice work is required. This is a full time job with extensive travel requirements and irregular hours. Possible relocation. Valid driver's license and the ability to drive a car are required. You must live near a major airport. In some circumstances, foreign language skills are required; bilingual English/Spanish and other languages is a plus.
Organizers in Training must be ready to work hard, have a commitment to learn union organizing and must have some experience in social justice work such as grassroots organizing, campus organizing, community organizing, political organizing or activism in their union.
Mid-level Organizers must have 1 – 2 years of organizing experience through political, legislative, student activist, social justice or union campaigns.
Top-level Organizers must have structured campaign organizing experience and community organizing or coalition building experience.
