Penetration Tester

Key Role:

Create test plans for cybersecurity penetration testing during developmental testing (DT) and operational testing (OT). Execute DT and OT plans to discover in depth vulnerabilities and usable exploitations in a system or organization.Use commercial and open-source network cyber assessment tools, such as Core Impact, Nmap, Metasploit, and Nessus, and produce written reports and briefs on the results of penetration tests. Develop Operational Risk Management (ORM) concepts and matrixes to support operations and exercises. Assist with procuring, managing, and training for operational infrastructure and tactics associated with "attack platforms." Support execution of and help in development of TTPs for physical penetration testing or Red Teaming. Research various cyber actors' TTPs, organizational structures, capabilities, personas, and environments, and integrate findings into Cyber Red Teaming or penetration test operations. Develop products and materials required to support TTP development working groups, planning groups, operational planning teams, conferences, tabletop exercises, war games, and operational experiments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience reviewing and implementing mission area policy and doctrine, and development of Navy concepts, doctrine, tactics, techniques, and procedures

  • 10+ years of experience identifying mission area concepts and technologies for new innovative application within the Navy's experimentation process

  • 10+ years of experience supporting development of Navy mission areas operational concepts, tactics, and experimental concepts and technologies

  • 10+ years of experience planning and executing Joint Navy experimentation with mission area concepts and capabilities

  • 10+ years of experience in the execution of mission area capabilities at the tactical level

  • Experience with Python, Assembly, C, C++, .Net, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, or Ruby programming languages

  • Experience working with Operational Testing Agencies

  • Secret clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • Possession of 2 of the following certifications: Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Offensive Security Certified Expert (OSCE), Web Application Penetration Tester (WAPT), GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT), GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with exploiting common vulnerabilities on Windows or Linux operating systems

  • Experience with planning and conducting penetration tests

  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing for briefing and documentation

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
