This position will be employed through Headway consulting firm.

As a PMO team member, the contractor will function as a Technical Program Manager, working closely with the technology and product groups. The role's primary focus will be on enhancing processes, including process documentation, facilitating retrospectives, and providing Agile training. Additionally, this role entails monitoring and reporting on the progress and status of ongoing programs, while also upholding the accuracy and integrity of associated data.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Act as an Agile lead for both development team(s) and product owner(s), implementing Agile best practices.
  • Provide teams with ongoing assistance for activities such as refinement, retrospectives, and product backlog management.
  • Remove barriers and impediments that inhibit the team's productivity, including shielding the team from interference so they can focus on delivering business value.
  • Identify, mitigate, and communicate risks, escalating to the appropriate parties.
  • Act as a process authority to ensure teams adhere to Scrum values, principles, and practices while still maintaining the team's specific approaches.
  • Ensure technology and product priorities are delivered on time and with strong attention to quality.

Required Skills / Knowledge:

  • Knowledgeable in Scrum/Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in asking probing questions to better explore complex ideas and uncover assumptions and dependencies.
  • Experience in patiently working with teams to arrive at appropriate answers.
  • Experience in demonstrating a collaborative approach with all teams/functions.
  • Experience in promoting transparent communication within and external to the team/organization.

Preferred Skills / Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology, software, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of technologies used in software development and the educational business domain.
  • Proficiency in JIRA.
  • Scrum Team Coach/Master certification is a plus.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Hours:

  • Approximately 40 hours per week from June - December 2024.
  • Hybrid schedule with two days in the office (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Pay Rate (Depending on Experience)

  • $40/hour
