Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support our Outpatient Pharmacy Team!

This is a full day (40hrs/wk) position based out of Virginia Beach General Hospital and provides support to our 7 hospitals in the Hampton Roads and Peninsula area!

Includes: Sentara Virginia Beach General, Sentara Princess Anne, Sentara Norfolk General, Sentara Leigh, Sentara Obici, Sentara Careplex, Sentara Williamsburg Regional

Work schedule: Will work rotating 8 hour shifts, M-F from 8:45am to 7:15pm

Schedule provided in advance for location and hours

No Weekends

Mileage reimbursement for Travel

Occasionally will cover Holidays at Norfolk General

Required qualifications:

  • Virginia Pharmacy Technician license REQUIRED

  • Pharmacy Technician Registration Number and Pharmacy Technician Certification Board(PTCB) OR NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) REQUIRED

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year Pharmacy Technician experience preferred

  • Prior hospital experience preferred

Job responsibilities:

Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.
