General Information:

James Madison University's Facilities Management is accepting applications for a Garage Supervisor. This is a day shift with overtime as required to cover special events and inclement weather.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provides effective coordination and direction to employees. Communicates important information regularly and consistently with those they lead.
* Provides supervision and direction for the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
* Provides customer service to vehicle users and operators requiring assistance.
* Diagnose vehicle and equipment system faults in all areas of repair.
* Perform preventive maintenance and state inspections.
* Fabricates and installs special equipment and attachments.
* Delegates minor vehicle repairs to garage employees.
* Provide direction to the small engine repair shop.
* Assist the manager with managing the fuel program
* Obtains necessary estimates for body damage.
* Coordinates schedule to outsource repairs and plan for vehicle return via vendor and customer.

Qualifications:

* Strong mechanical and electronic background.
* Strong supervisory skills in the management of others.
* Ability to plan and schedule repairs.
* The ability to manage repair data in an automated cmms maintenance management system.
* The ability and skill to manage a multi task work environment.
* Must possess certification as a motor vehicle safety inspector.
* Must be 19 years of age with a valid driver's license held for a minimum of 24 months with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
* Must obtain a valid CDL Class A Driver's License with P (passenger) endorsement within one year of hire.

Conditions of Employment:

Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check.
