We are hiring a Transportation Logistics Manager to manage and oversee Transportation and Shipping staff, as well as responsible for all appropriate documentation and shipping paperwork.   
 
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
 
  1. Associate’s degree in Business Administration, or related field, or 5 years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  2. Must be able to receive clearance from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE).
  3. Must have strong computer and internet skills, including high proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  4. Must have experience with Intermodal Transportation
  5. Must have proficiency with cloud-based data storage tools.
  6. Excellent research and problem-solving skills
  7. Strong focus on meeting deadlines
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as very strong attention to detail.
  9. Ability to function autonomously in a fast paced ever changing environment.
  10. Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics.
  11. Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics.
  12. Experience working with transport management systems and warehouse management software.
  13. Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations.

  23. Must be able to learn federal regulatory requirements including, but not limited to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE), Department of Transportation (DoT) Pipeline and Hazardous Safety Administration (PHMSA) and Department of Defense (DoD).
  24. Keep current on regulations and new rulings for Department of Transportation (DoT) & Pipeline and Hazardous Safety Administration (PHMSA)
  25. Availability and willingness to work all required overtime.

JOB DUTIES:
 
  1. Responsible for coordinating the movement of freight through various transportation modes including truck, rail, and ocean carriers.
  2. Work hand in hand with company’s domestic and international facilities to ensure on time shipments and all documents are submitted by responsible parties.
  3. Ensure timely and efficient delivery of cargo to customers while prioritizing safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.
  4. Maintain accurate records and documentation of shipments, including tracking and monitoring of cargo from origin to destination.
  5. Oversees supervisor is approving all company rentals and approving invoices for both FbG and PbG and assisting where necessary.

  7. Create commercial packing list and invoices for required shipments.
  8. Communicate with carriers, customers, and internal departments to handle any issues that may arise during the transportation process, including delays or damages to cargo.
  9. Collaborate with logistics providers to optimize routes, reduce transit times, and improve customer satisfaction.
  10. Works with external suppliers to ensure most cost-effective shipping methods are utilized.
  11. Assist with the development and implementation of operational procedures and best practices to streamline processes and improve efficiencies.
  12. Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to management, including on-time delivery, transit times, and transportation costs.
  13. Proactively identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements and implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness.
  14. Maintain a high level of customer service and satisfaction by ensuring prompt and accurate communication with clients and responding to inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
  15. Create route plans for internal company drivers.
  16. Request escorts and thru-way permits for internal company drivers for all company trips.
  17. Monitor all company transport permits and licenses for renewal and keep updated.
  18. Maintain a copy of internal company CDL driver’s file and keep up with renewal of certifications to maintain DoT compliance.
  19. Review company driver’s logs to monitor OHS and compliance.
  20. Perform internal audits for both FbG and PbG for all DoT compliance.
  21. Assist in loading outbound shipments and ensuring appropriate documents completed and field per compliance.
  22. Assist and be present during audits, internal and external.
  23. Must be committed to ISO and the company's Quality Management System using process approach and risk-based thinking methodologies.
  24. Ensure the Quality Policy and quality objectives are communicated and upheld by all employees.
  25. Shares accountability for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System ensuring the Quality Policy and quality objectives are established and compatible with the context of the company.
  26. Ensure department is in compliance with ISO requirements.
  27. Assist in creation of any required procedures / forms.
  28. Participate in Yearly Management Review of all ISO documentation as scheduled.
  29. Complete and administer scheduled Performance Reviews for assigned staff.
  30. Establish and maintain a positive human relations climate in the department utilizing good communication practices and expeditious handling of complaints and problems.

  32. Assist Manager in approving department’s Weekly Time Sheets, requests for Vacation / Personal days for assigned staff.
  33. Ensure all necessary information is conveyed to Human Resource Department in a timely manner as it relates to the department.
  34. Participate in on-going training and education as required for the position.
  35. Participation with internal ISO audits encouraged.
  36. Abide by all company policies and procedures and comply with all governmental laws and regulations.
  37. Obey all company work and safety rules.
  38. Perform all other duties as required by management.
