Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Director of Risk Management - Clinical

Position Status: Full-time, Day Shift

Position Location: Onsite at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA

Standard Working Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (ET)

Responsibilities:

  • Lead facility risk management activities including event management, incident reporting, rounding, senior leadership reporting, CANDOR/disclosure "just in time" training, education on risk initiatives.
  • Partner with Quality and Safety to reduce risk and improve patient safety.
  • Coordinate and maintain loss control program, administer the risk management program on a day-to-day basis, manage and analyze risk management data, and conduct risk management educational programs.
  • Coordinate with division leaders and collaborate with clinical teams to develop strategies to prevent medical error and reduce loss.
  • Engage team members to evaluate incidents and assist in investigation to mitigate harm and exposure to the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with risk management related laws and regulations to control and minimize losses.
  • Identify trends and review system reports; conduct loss control audits; and conduct reviews to evaluate patient care quality and to identify possible risk exposures.
  • Participate with select committees related to the assessment of patient care and safety, customer satisfaction and facility issues to assist in providing risk management expertise and direction.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of Risk Management experience in a healthcare setting
