Primary Responsibilities

In the role of CAD Manager, we'll count on you to:

* Create designs independently under broad direction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager

* Demonstrate extensive knowledge of BIM, design development, construction documents, technical and engineering knowledge

* Provide first-level support for departments support software applications, networked client systems and procedures provide printer and printing support provide application and hardware setup and support department-specific applications

* Identify and initiate resolutions to client problems and concerns associated with office automation equipment, computer hardware and software

* Coordinate the purchase, installation and implementation of office automation hardware and software according to department standards and procedures

* Develop tools and procedures for daily operations support of LAN users

* Complete projects with distinctive design features differing significantly from BIM Technician precedents as needed

* Direct preparation of drawings by other BIM Technicians of lesser experience, or take responsibility for direct supervision of BIM staff as needed

* Work with client or contractor representatives as needed

* Perform other duties as needed

Travel

* Percentage of local travel - 5%

* Percentage of travel greater than 40 miles - 0%

Required Qualifications

* Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience

* A minimum of 10 years experience in technical support of BIM applications such as AutoCAD and MicroStation and a minimum of 5 years experience with Information Technology systems

* Must possess basic programming skills in LISP or VBA

* Demonstrate a strong knowledge of industry standards and practices in the areas of CADD, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Land Desktop and InRoads engineering documentation and plan presentation

* Uses office productivity software effectively (MS Office)

* Be able to use Microsoft database technologies

* Superior client service skills and attention to detail are essential

* Will engage in close and effective communication with HDR management and production users

* Communicates effectively, as well as having an enthusiastic, energetic work ethic

* Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to gather, organize and interpret data for process monitoring or business case development

* Must have strong organization skills and sound judgment in establishing priorities among support requests and project work

* An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
