Job Description
Title: Profile Application Engineer
Duration: 6 months assignment with the possibility of extension
Location: Mclean, VA/ Richmond, VA/ Plano, TX/ New York, NY
A Profile Developer within our *** Technology requires the design, coding, and testing of software projects, with a special focus on the underlying architecture of systems and integration between them. Additionally, this individual is expected to lead projects and project teams, support junior developers and contribute to best practices. Duties include development in one or more of the following technologies: Mumps, Profile Scripting Language (PSL), SQL.
Essential Functions:
Work with the Development Team Leader and business owners to refine and clarify project requirements.
Work with the Development Team Leader to help manage tasks and stories.
Provide team leadership and proactively seek out areas for improvement.
Produce detailed design specifications from project requirements.
Code projects using existing design standards and within accepted defect rate based on specification documents and automated testing
Help gather and provide input to assist in overall team process improvement and product design stability.
Properly track issues and resolutions in relation to the development effort using JIRA.
Ensure that all code retains logical stability, reliability, confidentiality, and integrity of client systems in accordance with client policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
At least 6 years of professional experience developing on Profile application (MUMPS and PSL), developing banking software (financial products and financial reporting features)
At least 3 years of professional experience managing projects and teams
At least 3 years of professional experience with system design and implementation
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years working with Profile Scripting Language (PSL)
3+ years of experience in Agile practices
3+ years of experience in shell scripting
Experience with Database Management Systems, SQL or automated testing a plus
