Job Description

We are looking for an experiencedUser Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Data Scientistwith demonstrated experience intheUser Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) designand development, collaboration with cross-functional teams and knowledge ofsupply chain risk optimization. The work will be located intheNational Capital Region (NCR).

A week in the life of aUI and UXData Scientist

  • Leads, designs, and implements User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) design systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and user-centric interfaces that align with DoD objectives and end-user needs to deliver data-driven, predictive analysis.
  • Applies deep understanding of Agile methodologies to drive and seamlessly integrate UI/UX design processes within iterative development cycles, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality designs.
  • Conducts user research, gathers requirements and feedback from stakeholders, defines user personas, and translates these insights into intuitive and visually appealing interface designs.
  • Effectively communicates design concepts and gathers feedback from stakeholders, presents design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, iterating designs based on input and usability testing.
  • Collaborates with developers to provide design assets, specifications, and guidance, ensuring the accurate execution of designs.
  • Demonstrates experience in conducting user research, usability testing, and translating findings into actionable design enhancements.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles and the ability to create user interfaces that are functional and visually engaging as well as experience with design systems and pattern libraries to ensure consistency and scalability of design assets.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Sciencedegree with minimum of ten years of relevant experience;
  • Must possess and maintain a DoD TOP SECRET Clearance and be able to obtain a Common Access Card.
  • Demonstrated proficiency developing products using at least one of the following types of software:
    • SAS, Python, orR to provide decision support on DoD applications
    • Advana
    • Tableau or Qlik, to develop Enterprise- wide decision support and management capabilities
    • SQL, Spark, and Databrick

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is$150,000-170,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
