Job Description
Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Guidehouse Digital LLC, McLean, VA. Perform complex medical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease and obtain advanced knowledge of standard operating procedures, assays, and instrumentation. Plan, perform, and evaluate routine and complex laboratory assays in accordance with standard operating procedures. Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures relevant to the lab in those technical areas for which they are appropriately licensed and trained. Supervise and perform daily clinical laboratory activities to include but not limited to instrument maintenance, specimen processing, specimen analysis, and result reporting. Follow and perform daily quality control materials and as needed instrument calibration. Comply with all quality to ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations, and guidelines, in addition to state and agency requirements. Report test results following the organization’s protocols by alerting physicians and/or nurses immediately about “red flag” results. Assure that critical values, STAT results, courtesy notifications, and routine results are reported. Ensure turnaround-times are consistently within guidelines and documentation is complete.
 
40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Biological Science, Chemistry, Medical Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Public Health, or a related field, and three (3) years of related work experience.
 
Must have three (3) years of experience with/in:
 
· Clinical chemistry laboratory experience;
· Knowledge of specialized medical diagnostic laboratory tests and medical terminology to perform specialized medical laboratory diagnostic tests;
· Specimen handling, acceptability, and processing;
· Automated and manual chemistry assays and urinalysis;
· Lab instrument maintenance including calibration, standardization, and adjustment; and
· Quality control.
 
May be required to work from various unanticipated client sites throughout the Eastern US. This position requires only little domestic travel.
