The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.

The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.

SPA has a near-term need for an Action Officer to provide onsite support in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities

SPA seeks a passionate and dedicated Action Officer to engage with the research and development community to organize meetings, develop briefings to technical and non-technical audiences, and interact with multiple internal and external personnel with excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills on a daily basis. The candidate's primary function will be in direct support of the Office Director and Deputy Director, and will work closely with the Director's Office (DIRO) Front Office Lead, Briefing Coordinators, and administrative staff to ensure comprehensive and seamless technical and administrative support to DIRO leadership.More specific tasks may include facilitating the development and implementation of Project Agreements/Arrangements (PA) and other international agreements (IA) in support of DARPA programs for government-to-government collaboration; drafting and amending IA documentation; and monitoring, identifying, and analyzing international developments, public policy issues and trends, and assessing their impact on strategy.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of experience solving financial, business, administrative, and program management problems
  • Active DoD Secret clearance and able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Demonstrated proficiency using modern PC techniques, systems, and tool such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Excel
  • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience in a research and development (R&D) environment
  • Prior experience supporting DARPA
