General Information:

James Madison University, a Division I Member of the NCAA and Sun Belt Conference, is seeking an Assistant Coach/Director of Player Development and Recruiting for its Women's Basketball Program. This position is a full-time, 12-month position with a full comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated start date is upon first availability

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Work in unison with the recruiting coordinator, to provide video and graphics to use for player development, recruiting, social media, community support and to enhance our overall program.
* Assist the head coach and staff in all aspects of their jobs, focusing on film and analytics to better enhance recruiting and coaching.
* Attend every practice to provide the coaching staff feedback in areas of improvement for each player, often supported by statistics and analytics formulated in practice using various technology modalities.
* Responsible for providing film-breakdown and detailed analysis of practices and games to the coaching staff prior to team practice, focusing heavily on methods for player improvement.
* Encourage player development by possessing a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically is essential.
* Assist in personal development of the players by acting as the liaison with both SAS and Dukes Lead to ensure the players are actively engaged in both areas of development.
* Monitor, organize and research the players in the transfer portal. Keep staff updated in a timely manner of possible options with statistics ready.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant institutional, Sun Belt Conference, NCAA rules and regulations.
* Build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with University and Athletics staff, students, and all constituents and stakeholders
* Foster and maintain positive relationships with prospective student-athletes, their families/guests, high school coaches to assist in the process of evaluating prospective student-athletes.

Qualifications:

Required:
* Previous experience working in Division I Athletics.
* Previous experience in basketball recruiting operations at the collegiate level.
* Thorough understanding of NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.
* Bachelor's degree.

Preferred:
* Experience working with student athletes with diverse backgrounds.
